Choose the format around the person, not the largest product in the shop.
Think about how it will be enjoyed
A small framed picture may be easier to enjoy every day than a large album stored on a high shelf. Consider eyesight, available space and whether the recipient likes looking through books. Ask a relative what is already on display before choosing a frame size. For a digital frame, think about who will set it up and maintain it. A present that relies on an unfamiliar app, a subscription or unreliable Wi-Fi may need more support than the gift-giver expects.
Choose a few meaningful images
A familiar expression or shared place can matter more than a technically perfect portrait. Include names and context where helpful, especially when children have grown quickly or the pictures span several generations. Check that everyone whose image is included is comfortable with the intended use. For a surprise, use photographs already shared for that purpose rather than taking images from a private account. Look closely at the crop before ordering so that an important face is not lost behind a mount.
Leave time for the personal part
Add a short note explaining why you chose the picture. If the gift is an album, leave room for the recipient to add their own memories rather than presenting your version as the only account. Check the supplier's delivery estimate and personalised-order terms before placing an order. Keep the original digital image and order details. Once the gift arrives, inspect it in good light and make sure any hanging hardware or stand is suitable before wrapping it.
